Holidays & Moving Forward mood: content listening to: "Look What You've Done to Me" - Boz Scaggs - Urban Cowboy soundtrack  I'm back at work today (came in at noon), work tomorrow, then a 4-day weekend. Doesn't get much better, does it? :) Christmas was nice. It was low-key, which is what I think we needed this year. There was good food, nice gifts, and the company of friends and family. I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday as well. I'm actually looking forward to the new year. I'm ready for a fresh start. I hope that will include a change in job, too. I should be getting a call for an interview, but I guess it won't be until next week. Please keep your fingers crossed for me. I really need to move on from my current job. February 10th will be 5 years here, which is about 4 years too long. Not much else to post right now. I'll be updating my recipe journal this weekend with some holiday goodies, and if anyone wants to see our holiday pics, email me and let me know. Labels: updates 12.20.2007

Finally...a real update! mood: upbeat listening to: "Don't Look Back In Anger" - Oasis Good morning, all! Happy Tuesday! I've already been productive here at work and hope to get a lot done today. I even left the house early and got breccie for me and Karen to split, too. The weather's nasty outside, though. The high yesterday didn't get out of the 40s, and today it's warm and humid. Tomorrow...another cold front. Go figure. Texas weather's crazy. :P I'm having lunch with the girls today (L, K, and M). Not sure where we are going yet, but I am sure it'll be somewhere good. Maybe Ross' for a greasy burger? ;) now listening to: "Naked Eye" - Lucious Jackson Erwina, I hope you guys have power and aren't completely freezing up there! I saw some footage on the Nightly News last night of how bad that storm is! *eep* Mom & Dad, I hope you are having fun on your small road trip. Mom, don't spend all of your money at the Titanic exhibit. :) Oh...one final note: I started watching Tin Man last night. For those who don't know, it's a Sci-Fi channel miniseries that's based on The Wizard of Oz, but it's been updated, of course. I am pleasantly surprised how good it is. There are enough references to the original to make it fun for those of us that are fans, but there's enough new material to make it it's own story. "There's no place like the O.Z." Christmas Order Frustrations 1) Crate and Barrel.com: Thank you for shipping my gift card so quickly, but what genius slapped a huge sticker on the inside of the card it goes in? I am quite aware that it was a $20 gift card...I didn't need a huge sticker to tell me that. Not only does it look bad, but it's covering the part of the card with the To: and From:, etc. Hopefully you will "be able to find one" to send to me. :P Seriously, a company of your caliber should not have issues like this. 2) Amazon.com: Thank you for shipping the two toys I ordered, but why couldn't you send an email as to why the 4 books didn't ship? More importantly, why did one of them being on back order prevent the rest from shipping? Come on guys! I know I chose free Super Saver shipping, but that didn't stop you from sending the toys in a separate order. I guess it's a good thing I made the time to call and inquire about where the books were. *grumbling* Do I physically *look* 30 all of a sudden? All of the teens that work at the grocery store call me "ma'am" and NEVER card me anymore! :P Seriously. It's disturbing! It wasn't *that* long ago that I was their age! Just because Ace of Base was rampant on the radio when I was in high school doesn't mean I am ancient, does it? Or just because Erin was my only friend that had any kind of internet access at all...and that was BBS systems and local dial-in to Austin! Labels: general grumbling |
