I know this is a day late, but...
HOOK 'EM HORNS! Number one football team in the nation!!!
Read more here...I know that not all of you are Ewan McGregor fans like Laurie and I are, but I received the following email from the board admin of our Ewan messageboard. If any of you have time this weekend or next week to do this, we would greatly appreciate it. Email me with any further questions.

Hello,
I don't send mass Emails to everyone on the Ewan Sisterhood Board
often but I think this is a worthwhile cause.
It has been confirmed that there will be no cast recording from Guys
and Dolls; the recording label has pulled its financial backing. One
Sister spoke with the Guys and Dolls orchestra conductor who told her
about it on Monday.
Numerous Sisters travelled from all over the world to see this play --
some more than once! It would be so wonderful to have a lasting memory
of the brilliant cast and the songs they sang. Many more were unable
to make the journey and a cast recording would be their only way to
share the remarkable Guys and Dolls experience.
We are going to try to sway the powers that be in our favor. We would
like every Ewan fan -- and that includes you! -- to write to the
theater between October 23 and 29 to let them know how much you want
to be able to buy a cast recording. And while we're at it, let's
really grab their attention: include a pair of dice with your letter.
The play revolves around the love lives of craps players, and the game
of craps is played with a pair of dice.
Here is the address to the Piccadilly Theater:
Piccadilly Theatre
16 Denman Street,
London,
W1D 7DY
Thank you! :-)
Claude

Laurie sent me this link, and I wanted to share it with all of you...
A Tangled Web: Halloween Product Contributes to a Real-Life HorrorPlease read it carefully and think twice as you decorate for Halloween and the holidays. I had actually read something similar a couple of years ago and stopped using the decoration they refer to. I also always keep my kitties inside on Halloween night. I hope it doesn't upset anyone too much, but I think you all need to read it.
to my friend, Cary. He was chosen by the
Austin Chronicle Best of Austin Awards 2005 as the "Best Yoga Teacher in a Ganesh-less Environment". :) If you click the link above and scroll to the bottom of the page, you will see the following:
----------------
Cary at 24 Hour Fitness/Gold's Gym/UTThe first time you attend one of Cary Choate's classes, you'll probably leave cursing his name and nursing your quivering abs. Those bold enough to return risk developing a cultish attachment to his carefully designed, hurt-so-good sequences. The phrase "gym yoga" tends to be an insult in yoga circles (and often for good reason), but Cary never allows the focus on the physical to overshadow the attention to pace and breath that makes yoga yoga. Even in the dreaded alligator pose.
mood: peachy

-Days Til My Birthday: 8
-Days Til My Birthday Party: 10
-Days Til Christmas: 73I include Christmas because Dustin and I are having our family Christmas in our home this year, so that means I have 73 days to get everything ready. First mission...fing new Christmas tree. The 4' one I have now won't get it. :P It looks like the Charlie Brown Christmas tree. ;) I am looking at getting about a 7.5' tree, prelit. I looked at Hobby Lobby last weekend, but they wanted WAY too much. I am going to Garden Ridge this weekend in hopes that they have a better selection. I already have my Christmas cookbooks and craft books out looking for inspiration. I know I want to make a new wreath for the front door, although I love the one I currently have. I made it a few years ago for my first apartment. I also need to buy stuff to create the mantle display I want to do. Mom is going to help me which will help a LOT. :)

good luck going to Booty Bay and defeating Blackbeard, Cap'n Ari!
what are the rest of you looking at??? move along! AARRRRRR!
mood: case of the mondays
listening to: JB & Sandy
First...a new entry at
Sarafina's Kitchen.
Second...thanks for the new lj icon, Erwina ;)

Third...pffffft to the state for not depositing my paycheck until this morning. I had serious shopping to do on Saturday and was unable to do so. Bite me. >:(
Finally got to spend time with Mom on Saturday. I missed doing stuff with her while she and Dad were in Spain. We did a little shopping (not much...see above note), then we went to see
Serenity in Pflugerville. I was mainly going for her, she's a huge fan of the tv show Firefly. Even though I hadn't seen Firefly, the movie was easy to follow and was really good. I would recommend it to anyone, even if you have never seen the tv show.
Nathan Fillion was hotter than ever, too, which never hurts. :)
I then went to Cavenders on my way home to try and find some new cowgirl jeans to wear to Graham's that nite, but for the first time ever I was unable to get
any assistance from their staff. They were all too busy fawning over some 18-year-old-size-0 girl. I decided I would just scrounge at home for something to wear. I met Karen, Shannon & Gloria at about 9:15 and stayed til around 11:30. It was ok, and of course it was fun hanging with Karen and Gloria, but I wasn't terribly impressed with Graham's. I would much rather drive out to Midnight Rodeo.
Sunday Dustin and I just laid around. I did do some laundry, but that was it. He had been out hog hunting Sat nite while I was out with the girls, and we neither one got to bed til about 1:45am. We did watch The Notebook, and it was good, but it kinda dragged at the end...I would have shaved about 10 minutes off of it. :P Oh, and to Fox...shame on you for already showing reruns of Simpsons and Family Guy...both of which I have seen more than 2 times now :p
