When a gal is left alone at night...
she finally creates her wedding shadow box! :)
I bought this at Pottery Barn about 6 months ago with the last of our gift cards from the wedding. After talking to Mom this evening about wedding piccies, I decided it was time to put it together and to start gather stuff to work on scrapbooks as well. My finished shadow box:

Hell Yeah
mood: pretty good
listening to: Redneck Woman playing in my head
Redneck Woman - Gretchen Wilson
Well I ain't never
Been the barbie doll type
No I can't swig that sweet champagne
I'd rather drink beer all night
In a tavern or in a honky tonk
Or on a 4 wheel drive tailgate
I've got posters on my wall of Skynard, Kid and Strait
Some people look down on me
But I don't give a rip
I'll stand barefooted in my own front yard with a baby on my hip
Cause I'm a redneck woman
And I ain't no high class broad
I'm just a product of my raisin'
And I say "hey y'all" and "Yee Haw"
And I keep my Christmas lights on, on my front porch all year long
And I know all the words to every Charlie Daniels song
So here's to all my sisters out there keepin' it country
Let me get a big "Hell Yeah" from the redneck girls like me
Hell Yeah
Hell Yeah
Victoria's Secret
Well their stuff's real nice
Oh but I can buy the same damn thing on a Wal*Mart shelf half price
And still look sexy
Just as sexy
As those models on TV
No I don't need no designer tag to make my man want me
You might think I'm trashy
A little too hard core
But get in my neck of the woods
I'm just the girl next door
Hey I'm redneck woman
And I ain't no high class broad
I'm just a product of my raisin'
And I say "hey y'all" and "Yee Haw"
And I keep my Christmas lights on, on my front porch all year long
And I know all the words to every Tanya Tucker song
So here's to all my sisters out there keeping it country
Let me get a big "Hell Yeah" from the redneck girls like me
Hell Yeah
Hell Yeah
I'm redneck woman
And I ain't no high class broad
I'm just a product of my raisin'
And I say "hey y'all" and "Yee Haw"
And I keep my Christmas lights on, on my front porch all year long
And I know all the words to every Ol' Bocephus song
So here's to all my sisters out there keeping it country
Let me get a big "Hell Yeah" from the redneck girls like me

Laurie's wedding and back to reality...
mood: relaxed
listening to: Minnie crying to go outside
Wow. Long time no post again :P Sorry, gang!
Dustin and I got back about 1:30 yesterday from Lewisville. The whole weekend was a lot of fun. We got there around lunch time on Friday. Laurie took Elizabeth, Karen, Krista, her Mom, and I to lunch at Gaylord Texan. They had a really nice buffet, although we all decided some of the food was a bit exotic for our tastes. Then we went back to our respective hotels and homes to rest before the rehearsal. The rehearsal started at 6, so Dustin and I headed out about 5 so he could grab a quick bite (he hadn't eaten lunch) and then we stopped in a pet store and Half Price Books to kill some time before the rehearsal. I now remember why I don't like going into Petlands...it depresses me to see kitties and puppies for sale there when there are TONS in shelters that needs homes, too. I think I drove Dustin crazy carrying on about it...I seriously had to walk out of the store. It bothered me a lot. I look at my two babies (esp. Minnie) and know that because someone bought a pet from a store, my Minnie had to spend 2 years in that shelter without a home. :(
The rehearsal went well. Everyone was there pretty much on time, the minister and staff at the chapel were all super nice, and Laurie only cried once. ;) We all then headed over to Dave and Busters for the dinner. We got to spend about an hour playing in the midway before dinner started. The food was yummy, and Laurie and Dave have wonderful family and friends. They are truly blessed. :) PS-Boys, I hope you were all able to watch your Star Wars dvds this weekend ;)
Saturday morning started at 5:45 for me and 5:00am for Laurie and Krista. Our hair appts. started at 7 and I was up first. It took Tiffany an hour to do mine, which I don't think she was planning on...I had a lot of hair for her to curl and pin, but it turned out beautifully. Next up was Lauries, and she looked fabulous. Then Krista had her hair straightend and it looked super pretty, too. Then it was off to the church to get dressed and go into the ceremony. The cermony was sweet and beautiful, and Laurie and Dave wrote beautiful vows for each other. The reception was beautiful and we had a lot of fun...and our first purple potatoes (in a martini glass, no less) ;) The food was good, but the people were a lot of fun. I really hope we have the chance to be around both of their families and friends again :)
Here are the few pictures I got on my camera: click me
We got back yesterday about just crashed out. We did go and get new cell phones and switched over to the family talk nationwide plan. I am really beginning to like my new phone:

So much for reading journals at work...
mood: cranky
listening to: Dr. Pepper fizzle in the background
Guess the ppl here at work figured out livejournal and blocked it :(
"Access to this web page is restricted at this time.
Reason:
The Websense category "Tasteless" is filtered."
Is that the only category they could put it in? :P wtf?
So...I was going to catch up on journals today at lunch, but it looks like it will have to wait til tonite. For right now I am writing here and crossing my fingers they don't block this, too. If so, I may have to audioblog or use the mail addy I set up to send my posts to.
Speaking of tonite...I HAVE to clean house :( I slacked last nite. At the very very least I have to clean bathrooms and vacuum. I also have to take care of the sickly hubby...who is finally going to the doctor today. :) I am also going after work to pick up the Star Wars set and probably hit the Petite Sophisticate sale rack for some new work clothes since my are evidently not appropriate. (more later on that)
Hope you guys are doing well...I will try to read journals tonite!

I live with Sponge Bob...
As most of you know, my husband works for Kathryn Beich, which is a fundraising organization that mainly works with schools. For his kick-offs for sales, Dustin dresses as SpongeBob Squarepants. I got some pics this weekend of him in his regular costume and the one he borrowed from a co-worker. You have to understand that the best part of these is that he LOVES being SpongeBob and showing off the costume. The first pic is of him in his costume, and the second is in the borrowed one with our friends, Ari & Jeff (who were just as excited to take their pic with SpongeBob). It should also be noted that our youngest cat, Padme, likes to crawl up in the borrowed costume, which is why you hear "Padme! Get up out of SpongeBob's business!" a lot in our household these days. :)

Stuck In a Rut
I feel like my life is stuck in a rut. I have not been on vacation since February, work is dull and mundane. I am beginning to feel trapped, and I need to escape. It looks like the trip to Laurie's wedding will be my only real escape until next February when we tenatively planned another trip to Vegas. Luckily, I do enjoy being a home-body a lot, but even I have had enough now. I wish I could take off from work more easily and that D and I had a little extra money for a nice long weeekend trip somewhere before the holiday madness starts.
I can't get this scene from Family Guy out of my head (courtesy of http://www.planet-familyguy.com/):
Quagmire: Heh. Well, me and Cleveland are gonna am-scray. Hehhh.
Peter: Wait, wait, wait, you guys can't leave me here alone.
Cleveland: Well, why don't you come with us?
Peter: I can't leave the premises. They're monitoring my every move.
Peter lifts his trouser leg. A small device with a blinking light is strapped
to his ankle. Back at the monitoring station, the guy watches the screen. It shows
what appears to be a game of Pong, but is actually Peter running from wall to wall.
Peter: I gotta get outta here! I gotta get outta here! I gotta get outta here

listening to old cds, finding good memories...
mood: productive
listening to: Joe Diffie - Texas Size Heartache
Little Miss Dynamite, just blew my world away,
It was a pitiful sight, me beggin' her to stay,
I never had a hunch, so how was I to know,
She packed a punch, that knocked my heart out cold,
She put a hurt on this old cowboy, broke my heart like a little play toy,
Brought me to my knees from ten feet tall,
The night she left me in Amarillo, I cried crocodile tears in my pillow,
The bigger they are, the harder they fall,
How could a blue-eyed beauty only five foot three,
Lay a Texas size heartache, on me
She came across so cool, I didn't think that I'd get burned,
Now I'm a big ole' fool, with a leavin' lesson learned,
Thought I was strong, like ole' Hercules,
She proved me wrong, with her little "Ce La Vie",
She put a hurt on this old cowboy, broke my heart like a little play toy,
Brought me to my knees from ten feet tall,
The night she left me in Amarillo, I cried crocodile tears in my pillow,
The bigger they are, the harder they fall,
How could a blue-eyed beauty only five foot three,
Lay a Texas size heartache, on me

It's not Monday...
mood: pretty good
listening to: Fell in Love with a Girl - White Stripes
Yay for long weekends. :) I feel like I got so much done for once...it is a great feeling. I cleaned, hung curtains, paid bills...very productive. Now I can return to being a bum *g*
Work has been steady, but not crazy here today. My team leader is back, but in a good mood for her, and she is leaving at 4.
I talked to Lauries online the other night and it seems like the wedding is falling into place. I hope she enjoys these last few weeks and doesn't have to stress too much longer. I also got her invite to the luncheon the Friday before the wedding, and it sounds like fun! I have never had a professional mani and pedi, so I am excited about that, too. I have my dress being altered now and I get to pick it up on the 16th. She had to do a lot of work to take in the bodice, but the rest of it was fine except for the length of course. I am trying to get a hold of her to save me a piece of the material for Lauries, but she is out of town til this Thursday...I hope she hasn't started my dress yet.
I am getting excited about my Birthday/Halloween party. I looked online to double check info on the RHPS showings to put on the evite, and I am glad I did because this week was the last week they were at the Wells Branch theatre. The good part is they are moving to the Alamo Drafthouse Village location, which will be a better venue. I hope everyone will enjoy it :)

Is it clean YET?
mood: tiiiiired from cleaning
listening to: Our House - Madness
quiz: Click Me
linkie: Play Quiz: R2-D2 (Artoo-Detoo) Trivia now!
I have been cleaning the house all afternoon. I left about 11 to go to Linens and Things to get another curtain rod (one of the ones I got yesterday was too short, but it will work in D's office when I do that room next month.) I then stopped at the HEB at 1431 and 183, and I remember why I hate it...it is old, cluttered, and they don't have basic things they should...like the only Lipton soup mix they had was Onion. Sooo...I have to go to the good HEB tomorrow morning because I am having the parents over for lunch. I want them to come see my great curtain hanging skills, and I want to see Daddy before he leaves for his 10 day rafting trip in the Grand Canyon. He will then be home for like a week and then he is going back to Guyana for a medical mission. THEN he gets back for like a week or less and he, Mom, Aunt Kathy, and Uncle Darwin are going on vacation. So yeah, I want to see him before he is gone til my bday :p
I will take piccies of the new curtains after the house is clean, which will hopefully be later on tonite. *glances at clock* yipes! 5:03 :( Must go clean more...bbl!

"I also bought a new toothbrush. I'm very loyal to my toothbrushes, so it's always hard for me to make the switch over to a new one. Me and the last one have been through so much together, but alas his time had come. He looked kind of pissed at me in the garbage can."- from the Garden State blog yesterday (see link in left hand column) ZB makes me giggle :)
Yesterday - hit my 100th post in my blog ^^
Today - hit my 101st post ^^
okok...really. Recap of week: stranded at lunch monday with bad negative connection to truck battery, more stupid crap at work, bridesmaid dress fitting yesterday evening, fought off ant invasion in my closet, now trying to rid bathroom and bedroom of ant spray stench, finally got my Avion cd, really really wanting some sleep.
